Samsung files for Digital Bezel trademark, tickles imagination

With Samsung apparently having tried to develop a cardinal-less design for the Galaxy Notation 10, a recent trademark application caught our eye. In South Korea, the company has filed paperwork for the markDigital Bezel. Update June 19: in improver, trademark applications forTouch BezelandTouch Wheelhave also surfaced.

Late concluding week, Samsung filed an application with the Korean Intellectual Property Part (KIPO) for the trademarkDigital Bezel. The application's clarification is very wide, providing very little data about the device or application the mark applies to. That said, we tin non help but exist reminded of the alleged key-less design Samsung was testing for its upcoming Galaxy Annotation ten.

Back in March, we heard the kickoff rumors about a next-generation Annotation device that no longer has physical hardware keys. Even merely a few weeks ago, a like study made the rounds, only to exist debunked past 2 sets of renders showing a Galaxy Annotation x with traditional physical keys. Yet, it is inevitable that Samsung will release devices in the time to come with pressure level or touch sensitive keys replacing physical buttons. This is where we imagine aDigital Bezel comes in, existence a bezel with such added functionality.

Of course, the primal phrase here is 'we imagine'. Samsung'sDigital Bezel might well turn out to exist something else entirely. With the Note 10 actually having a normal bezel, we are not likely to find out more when that phone launches in August. For at present, we'll just file this under 'things we are eager to learn more than about'.

And whileTouch Bezel does fit to a key-less telephone blueprint,Touch Wheel rather seems to hint at a adjacent-generation Galaxy Watch. Incidentally, we recently revealed Samsung is indeed working on but that. Of form, whether this 'Galaxy Watch 2' sports aImpact Bezel orTouch on Wheel remains to be seen, but we will be sure to go along our optics and ears open for more information.
